The last 5 minutes is what makes La La Land a masterpiece. The reality of this situation that has unfolded, that in another universe these 2 people are so happy together and living a fantasy life from each of their perspective. While in reality both followed their own dreams and have this moment together of a scenario that wasn’t plausible but so real emotionally. Each scene in the movie was filled with such real emotion and interaction, it wasn’t a musical but a romance. It was such a true to life story that was perfectly summed up between a melancholy look shared by two people who shared so many memories together at one point in time.
